The ‘Sea to Bottle’ Campaign

Masan · 2016

THE GAP

Nam Ngu fish sauce led the category.
But leadership came at a cost.
Years of safety and process-led communication had built trust — and quietly created distance.
The brand was seen as industrial.
New entrants claimed “real.”

THE INSIGHT

Real isn’t what you say.
It’s what you show.
If authenticity was being questioned,
the answer wasn’t a claim — it was transparency.

THE MOVE

Open the doors.
Let the product speak for itself, from sea to bottle.

THE IDEA

A documentary-style narrative tracing the full journey — catching fish, fermenting in barrels, quality inspection, and extraction.
Every step filmed inside Nam Ngu’s real facilities in Phu Quoc.
No stylisation.
No shortcuts.
Influencers were invited into the factories — to see, learn, and share the process firsthand.

THE OUTCOME

Perception shifted.
• Industrial became authentic
• Process became proof
• Market leadership was reinforced
Nam Ngu didn’t defend its dominance.
It deepened it — gaining further market share.
Not by claiming to be real.
By showing it.
