Cho Tot · 2015
THE GAP
Classifieds felt distant.
Buying and selling were still seen as physical — markets, word of mouth, trusted circles.
Online platforms lacked relevance.
And trust was fragile.
THE INSIGHT
People don’t adopt platforms.
They adopt stories that reflect their lives.
If Cho Tot was to feel useful,
it had to feel human.
THE MOVE
Don’t explain the platform, and the use and relevance of it.
Let life explain it.
THE IDEA
A series of episodic mini-movies — 6 to 10 minutes each — built around everyday desires, small frustrations, and quiet wins.
Set within a romantic, quirky love story, and brought to life by some of Vietnam’s most recognisable faces, including Tran Thanh.
Cho Tot wasn’t promoted.
It was woven naturally into life.
Humour carried the message.
Stories built trust.
THE OUTCOME
The series changed the rules.
• Episode 9 topped the YouTube Leaderboard in Vietnam
• Ranked Top 10 across SEA & APAC
• Voted Best Ad
• Became a widely cited marketing case study
At a time when advertising was shrinking to seconds, Cho Tot proved that long form storytelling could still win.
The campaign didn’t just make Cho Tot a household name — it sparked a new advertising format in Vietnam.
